Hi! Well, I don’t know if this picture is my favorite, but definitely I love it and makes me proud. I don't know who took the picture, as I picked it up from a story on Instagram. But I appear in the last play I did at school. This one was about an old age spouses, the bad old age of most elderly people in Chile; it dealt with issues of pensions, loneliness, madness, and sadness, but it also had scenes of laughter and typical funny situations we live with our grandparents. I wrote this play with my partner, and then we acted it together (we were scriptwriters and actors). This photograph makes me feel very proud because it caused a lot of impact on the audience; when the play ended, they closed the curtains and then opened again to we bow, with my partner we realized that there were many people excited and a few crying. We couldn’t believe it, because we did not do the play with that intention, but it filled our hearts immensely, from that moment we knew we did a good job.

Postgraduate Studies

Hi! Before I entered of study program, I once heard that if anthropologists didn’t go to postgraduate studies, they would be eternally unemployed. Because anthropology is so broad that it’s necessary to specialize in something to get job, and from that day (a little traumatized, whether it is myth or truth) I knew that yes or yes, I want/must do a postgraduate program. I would like study many subjects, like linguistic anthropology, about urban life, feminism, colonialism, Latin American identity, migration, etc. But now, I think migration studies are winning, but that's now, my interests will most likely change during the study program. Really, I would love to study abroad, but if it’s in Chile, I’m not complaining. Now, if I dream in big, I would like study in Mexico, Germany, England, France, or USA, because anthropology is highly developed in these countries. Although we must consider the approach that the discipline has in each country, and then choose (and think in other

My Future Job

Hi! In the last years of high school, I knew that I wanted to work contributing to the world, especially helping people. So, when I started studying anthropology and I learnt more things about the anthropologist work’s, I confirmed to myself that I want to follow this way. I would like to work with issues of vulnerable immigration, helping to make theirs arrives in Chile isn’t stormy, and that their labor and social insertion will optimal, avoiding abuses as much as possible. I know that it’s hard, but with just contribute one grain of sand I’m will happy. In that sense I would like work outdoors and travel as much as possible, for meet the reality of other countries from which immigrants come. In terms of salary, I'm not looking to earn a lot of money. Just I want can live with my salary and wouldn’t have search other works for to get end of month. Like you can see, the area of anthropology I like is social. And I would love can continue studying after, take a postgraduat

A meal or food I really like

Hi! My favorite food forever was, is and will “pan con mantequilla” (yes, bread with butter). I've been told all my life, "Really?” YES, really, I love it, for me there is no better thing in the world, every day for as long as I can remember I have eaten bread with butter, in the breakfast and the dinner. How is it made? This question has many answers. But I can say depends on if you want bread warm or cold. And which type of bread you want, can be “hallulla”, “marraqueta”, bread of hot dog, “dobladita”, sliced bread, homemade bread, baguette, “coliza”, anything that you want. Have you seen Forrest Gump? Well, I am as Buba with the shrimp. So, if you want to butter a fragile bread, you should scrape the butter out in layers, on the other hand, if it is stronger, you can cut the butter into pieces and pour it on the bread (the same applies in hot or cold weather.) I don’t now why I love butter, but simply I enjoy its taste. My family says that I’m economic people, for exa

Cringe

Hi! When I was 13 years old, I participated in a school of dance, there we had to do a presentation at the end of each semester, as an exhibition of all our knowledge. That time, the place of the show was in the theater and cultural center “Caja Los Andes”, which has the capacity of 600 people. Well, arrived the moment, the presentations started… the only problem was that my group was the last. So, we were in an underground room for a lot of time, at the begin we’re overcrowding with the other groups of dances. Then, due to boredom we started to talk about that the models apply hairspray in his body, so their skin looks stiff and doesn't move. So, we put hairspray on our legs. What could go wrong? “our skin would look beautiful”. It was our turn to go on stage, our song was “Beautiful people” of Christina Aguilera. Everything was fine, but with the movement plus the lights, I started to sweat a lot. In one part of the choreography, I kneeled and I slipped like a Rockstar around

The best holidays ever

Hi! My best holydays were when I went to Peru in 2015, with my father. I went on winter vacations, for almost three weeks. With just 13 years old I had the opportunity of take a big trip for many cities of Peru. I met part of Tacna, Arequipa, Cuzco, Puno, and its surroundings. In each city we met museums, churches, markets and in general, tourist attractions. I think that all trip was awesome, but if I had to choose the best, I can say that was the food, the way to get to Machu Picchu and that I spent time with communities of Titicaca Lake.   First, the food, because I ate a lot of delicious corn, thousands of potatoes, cracklings (chicharrones) and ceviche. Second, the way to get to Machu Picchu; we take the tour called “Inka Jungle”, which consisted of going to Aguas Calientes from Cusco in approximately 3 days. During those days, we road on bicycle like 50 km, then we did rafting, canopy and we walked 8 hours in the pre jungle zone, until arrive Aguas Calientes. Third and ultim
